Le kanji 滝 est le kanji de la cascade. Si on le regardons de plus près et qu’on le décortique, on se rend compte qu’il est composé de plusieurs éléments identifiables : la clef de l’eau 氵 ( c’est une des abréviations possible du kanji eau : 水) et le kanji du Dragon : 竜
竜, le Dragon électrique
Commençons donc par analyser le kanji du dragon (qui peut signifier aussi impérial). Nous avons le kanji de debout en haut : 立, ainsi que un symbole qui ressemble au Kanji rizière 田 avec une petite queue fourchue en bas ( le livre d’Yves Maniette les Kanjis dans la tête, associe ce symbole à l’électricité pour une plus grande simplicité d’apprentissage. Pour que l’idée d’électricité découle de ce symbole, Mr Maniette propose de s’imaginer un long câble électrique au milieu d’une rizière qui aurait pour but de capter les éclairs et de les convertir en précieuse électricité).
Debout + Électricité = Dragon ?…… Moi personnellement, quand je vois cette équation je pense tout de suite au jeu Zelda Breath of the Wild©, avec le dragon Rordrac. En effet, tous les matins, celui-ci s’élève de tout son long (debout donc) hors du lac où il passe la nuit (lac situé en haut d’une cascade, tout est lié je vous dis!), et envoie des boules d’électricité à quiconque essaye de s’approcher.

Après, des Dragons électriques il y en a un peu partout dans les jeux vidéos, les anime, et autres contenus multimédias. À vous donc de vous créer une image mentale qui vous parle avec le dragon de votre choix.
Eau + Dragon = Cascade?
L’eau on connaît, le dragon on vient de voir… mais comment diable allons nous faire pour que cela nous évoque une cascade ?
Le livre Les Kanjis dans la tête (sur lequel je me base pour apprendre mes kanjis) propose une petite histoire mnémotechnique. Sauf que moi, je vous propose plutôt d’utiliser la légende chinoise qui a inspirée les développeurs de Pokémon©.
En effet, j’ai appris dans la vidéo YouTube de Links the sun Point culture : Les Pokémon 3 que ce n’est pas une coïncidence si le pokémon Magicarpe (pokémon qui représente une carpe et qui est très très faible) peut évoluer en Léviator (pokémon représentant un dragon et qui est extrêmement puissant).
Dans la mythologie chinoise, il existe une légende qui décrit comment des carpes ont réussi à se changer en majestueux dragons. Pour se faire, elles sont allées à la cascade du fleuve jaune intitulé « la porte du Dragon », puis ont entrepris de remonter cette cascade de la seule manière qu’elles le pouvaient : en sautant. Après de nombreux essais les carpes qui étaient parvenues en haut retrouvaient leurs efforts récompensés car elles se métamorphosèrent soudainement… en Dragon. 🐉🐲
La carpe étant un poisson très commun, et le dragon étant le symbole de la famille impériale chinoise, cette légende est en réalité une métaphore de l’ascension sociale. En effet, cette légende veut transmettre l’idée que si un individu de basse classe sociale fournit énormément d’efforts, et malgré les dangers, il pourra potentiellement s’élever socialement jusqu’au statut le plus haut : celui d’empereur.
Cette idée d’efforts récompensés est d’ailleurs reprise dans le jeu Pokémon© : Magicarpe est extrêmement faible et ne peut que faire des petits sauts sur place (qui ne font aucun dégâts à l’adversaire), mais si le joueur prend la peine de fournir malgré tout les nombreux efforts nécessaires pour faire évoluer son Magicarpe, celui-ci est récompensé par l’obtention d’un des pokémon les plus puissants du jeu, surnommé « le dieu de la destruction »: Léviator.
Revenons donc à notre Kanji : En conclusion, quelle Eau peut transformer en Dragon ? La Cascade de la porte du Dragon bien sûr !
